Scott Laube: Final Project Proposal
I would like my final project to be a combination of an audio slideshow and video piece profiling fellow Long Island residents cutting down Christmas trees the day after Thanksgiving. My friend works at a Christmas Tree Farm and always tells me the busiest day he works is on Black Friday. So I would go to the tree farm he works at and take pictures of the vast amount of Christmas trees and the variety of people cutting them down. I would then interview some customers and ask them why they decided to cut down their tree on Black Friday. The hook would be that Black Friday is typically believed to be a day dedicated to shopping and watching College Football. But for some people, it means driving to the local Christmas Tree Farm and cutting down the family tree! I intend to have my project run anywhere from three to four minutes. Finally, my proposed headline would be: "Who Said Black Friday is Only for Shopping?!"
