These are two segments from "Running Toward Danger" which
is displayed at the Newseum. I think these segments just begin to show how spectacular
this multimedia documentary is. The video has several journalists tell their stories about covering the Twin Towers collapsing on 9/11.“Running Toward Danger” is so special because
it shows extremely personal stories about the struggles journalists faced to run for their lives or capture the story.
This piece stands out to me because I think it does an excellent job
at painting a vivid picture. I remember parts of 9/11, but I was very young.
Since I did live through it I am very interested in the topic. However,
because I was only in second grade I only remember a little about the actual
day. This video helps make my memories clearer while also mixing in my love of
journalism. These journalists had to cover one of the most tragic events in
history, but the fact that they did is so moving to me. This video shows how
brave they were because they were faced with the choice whether to run for their lives or to stay and cover the story. These journalists chose to risk their lives to cover the story. Due to these journalists' bravery we have videos, pictures, and
stories to remember the events for forever.
