“Journalism is really important to the public. Everyone bashes the media and talks crap about it and says all these things that we’re ruining this and doing terrible things to people, whatever. But in reality, what would we do without journalism? How would we get our news, how would we know anything is going on? We wouldn’t. So I think it’s invaluable.”

“Some challenges are definitely having to have a broader skill set. You really can’t just focus on one thing anymore. You can’t just be a videographer. You can’t just be a writer anymore. You have to be everything because it’s really competitive.”

But at the same time I’m sort of doing my own citizen journalism by having my blog. So, I can’t be too concerned about it because otherwise how am I getting my experience right now?”
